ALINA

Alina is me and also the name of these woven ornaments. But it is not merely a brand. ALINA has gradually become a community, an international exchange community composed of people from all over the world who enjoy making shuttlecock ornaments. All of this starts with a beautiful video!

I like beautiful things very much. One day, I saw a very magical video. A pair of beautiful hands were operating two small shuttles, shuttling back and forth on a single line. Then a beautiful lace shawl was completed.
At that time, I was simply extremely curious. How did she manage to do it? It was so amazing. Most importantly, the entire production process was extremely beautiful.
From then on, I learned that this craft was called shuttle weaving. Then I entered the world of weaving lace. Study its production process.

"Tatting" is an exquisite needlework that can be traced back at least to the late 17th century. This is a method of making lace, known as the knotting lace technique, which consists of rings and chains and uses shuttles and threads. Youdaoplaceholder0 In the Victorian era of the 19th century, embroidery art became most popular. Men, like women, enjoy knitting as a relaxing pastime, creating lace, trims, tablecloths, collars, shawls and so on.
Perhaps many people nowadays are not aware of the handcrafted technique of lace weaving. Indeed, it doesn't attract as much attention as it did in the 19th century. As time goes by, it is increasingly unable to keep up with the trends and aesthetics of The Times.
At that time, I was thinking, if it were made into accessories like bracelets, necklaces, earrings and so on, would it look very nice when worn on the body? From then on, I learned to design and draw. I found a large number of related videos for learning. I was surprised to find that there are already people making this kind of jewelry online! It gave me a lot of inspiration.
I can combine the craft of shuttle weaving with rare materials such as crystal, vintage glass, gemstones, natural stones, pearls and so on. Design more magnificent and beautiful shuttle weaving ornaments with different types and sizes of materials. It is light and delicate to wear. Moreover, it is all custom-made by hand, and each piece is unique.

Handmade shuttle weaving was just my hobby before. But when I share my handmade accessories on social media platforms. More and more people praise this as a lost art. There are also some people who cannot go to work due to various reasons and some disabled individuals. I really want to learn this craft from me when I go to sell and make money. Only then did I understand what I was doing. I am promoting and passing on this kind of handicraft art. Even because of this small hobby, one can make a little contribution to this society. This makes me even more convinced that I should do such a thing.
I hope more and more people will know, like, learn and make this technology.
More than a year has passed. I have learned to design, draw, match colors and so on all by myself. A small team that has developed to the present. Through various social media platforms, in the form of short videos and live streaming. Let more people know about this lost technology. I'm extremely excited and happy.
I also know that shuttle weaving is no longer as popular among the public as it used to be! But it doesn't matter. I will do my best to design and create more beautiful accessories, incorporate the popular elements of the moment, and design various kinds of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and other ornaments. Hope everyone stays tuned!
